Welcome to Travel Niche Kish πŸ’—

Hey Friends! Welcome to My Blog Travel Niche Kish ! I decided to start a blog to document my travel journey that began 8 years ago to share my memories and ideas with the world. Yes, I have traveled to places prior to 8 years ago, but traveling really became my passion after traveling for a girls trip to Cuba in 2011.  To date, I have had the opportunity to travel to 12 countries and 16 US States solo, with friends and/or with family. Every time my friends or family are planning a trip, they always ask me where they should go, what hotel/resort they should choose and what things can they do/see while on vacation. I must say, I am not an expert on all of the places I have traveled to but I definitely have learned  A LOT  in every place. I have always been encouraged by my friends and family to share my experiences, photos and ideas - therefore I have decided to create a blog doing just that :) In my blog, I will be sharing my past travel locations, hotels/resorts, attraction

🚌TRAVELING BY BUS  🚌 Hey Friends! If you follow my Instagram (goldxheartx) you would have followed my recent stories related to traveling via bus.  I love going on vacations (short or long) therefore I enjoy taking advantage of any form of traveling whether it is via plane, train, road trip or now by bus. Yes, I have had a chance to go on a bus trips in my teenage years but it was not at my own leisure, it was planned by others!  As you may already know my goal is to encourage and inspire others to travel on a budget so I needed to share this cheap way to travel with you all! In the last 2 months, I have taken the Greyhound bus and Megabus.  In December 2019, it was my first time taking a Greyhound bus and it was comfortable, convenient and cheap. I traveled from Ottawa to Toronto for only 40$ CAD and the trip was 4.5 hours as it made 1 stop on the way! On Cyber Monday 2019, Megabus gave away free bus tickets in Canada and the USA and I was able to score

How to pack light for your upcoming vacation!

Hey Friends! Packing should never be stressful when preparing for a trip! As mentioned in my previous posts and during my podcast interview with Thick Smart Authentic, I prefer to travel with a backpack and carry on suitcase. I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE THINKING... HOW ??  AND.... Yesssss it is possible and here is how!  Traveling cubes are my savior for packing!!! You can buy them online or in your local Walmart’s, Marshalls or baggage store. I purchased Air Canada packing cubes at Walmart for 20$ CAD.   Packing cubes will help you save A LOT of space when packing that way you DO NOT have to pack a check in luggage and wait around at the baggage carousel! The packing cubes come in different sizes and numbers. I purchased the pack of 3; which are equipped with a small, medium and large cube. To make life easier it’s helpful to plan clothes for every day of your trip! I always follow the weather to my destination that way I do not over pack. Also it is imp

Solo Traveling Tips

Hey Friends! I felt it was so important to make a blog post about solo traveling as so many people have asked me how do I do it! I personally enjoy solo traveling as it gives me the opportunity to explore and move at my own pace. As nice as it is to have company on vacation, I love knowing that I can do what I want, when I want! I just got back from a solo trip to Atlanta and San Francisco and many family/friends/followers have asked me for solo traveling tips which I will share with you all below.  First thing's first, it is soooo important to do your research prior to traveling solo.  If I am traveling somewhere solo for the first time, I do the following: 1.       Research the safest places to travel solo. 2.       Once I choose my destination, I do a thorough online search of areas that may NOT be safe to be during my vacation.  3.       I search for different accommodation options; some people like hostels that way they can meet new

SAVING TOOL FOR YOUR NEXT VACATION

Image
Hey Friends! I would like to share with you, one of the new ways that I save money for an additional vacation every year. I know that for some individuals it can be difficult to put money aside to travel and I get it! But if you are that person that does not have or want to work a second job, here is a little challenge that can help you save 1378$ by the end of the year and be ready to book your next vacation ! I am sure many of you might have already heard about this saving tool before as people post it every new year in on social media feeds. The name of the tool is the “52-week money saving challenge”. The purpose of this tool is to put a specific amount of money aside every new week that way at the end of the year you have a total of 1378$ saved. This is how it works: Every new week of the year, you will add the week number in dollars into a jar / piggy bank. For example, week 1 of January you will add 1$, week 2 you will add 2$ and so forth. The best way to commit

πŸš† Train Ridin' πŸš†

Hey Friends! If you are Canadian or simply plan to visit Canada, there is another form of transportation to visit the beautiful provinces of our amazing country! We all know we can fly, drive, bus but train is by far one of my favorite ways to travel next to flying! Here in Canada we have the VIA Rail Train system which has several routes all across Canada. Let me tell you taking the VIA Rail Train is soooo convenient, affordable and very relaxing. I have taken the VIA Rail Train at least 10 times and I would definitely recommend everyone to take it at least once.  Similar like an airline, VIA Rail has different ticket fare options such as escape, economy and business class. For longer trips they also have sleeper cars, YES SLEEPER CARS so you can sleep in a bed while traveling to your destination 😍 .  Other great things about the Via Rail Train is that they offer free wifi and meals/refreshments (same services as an airline but they accept cash paym

Road Trips πŸš—

Hey Friends πŸ’– Since my blog is all about traveling, I wanted to talk about road tripping! “I been trippin, I'm trip trippin " ♫♫♫ When I was a kid, my parents would always take my brother and I on road trips to QuΓ©bec City to visit our family. At the time, I lived in Halifax, Nova Scotia so that was 12 hours in the car! 😐  To be honest, I do not enjoy driving long hours anymore but I must admit road trips can be fun and an adventure when you are traveling with people! I have taken numerous road trips from Toronto, such as to Niagara Falls, Buffalo, Ottawa, QuΓ©bec, Montreal, Blue Mountain, Nova Scotia, Virginia and Florida! If you are not in a hurry to get to your destination, I would say stop somewhere on your way and check out a new town/city! Keep in mind that a road trip DOES NOT have to be somewhere far and you can always go on a day trip.  If you do choose to go somewhere for more than 24 hours, I would recommend that you explore events and/or things to d
