Barbados
BARBADOS🌞
Barbados is my FAVORITE Caribbean island for so many
reasons; the food, the beach, the people and the list goes on!
In Summer 2014 and Spring 2016, I traveled to
Barbados.
I did not do the all-inclusive option as it was very
expensive like the Bahamas.
Hotels: Rostrevor Hotel and Divi Southwinds Beach Resort both 4 stars
Highlights: Most evenings, I ate at the “Oistins Fish Fry”
(a family member took me or I took the city bus). Also in the evening , the
“Gap” is LIVE! There are people that sell street food and the burgers were the
best I have ever tasted LOL.
I also tried a few of the restaurants in the “Gap” but
honestly did not find the food to be very tasty and it was expensive as it is
the tourist area. I will say that if you get a chance to visit you definitely
have to try “Chefette” which is what I would consider the McDonalds of Barbados
but BETTER!
Food 10/10 –
Because of Oistins Fish Fry and Chefette.
Recommendations: Make sure to check out airline deals a
few months in advance as the prices do drop every so often. Both times I paid
roughly 350$ round trip from Toronto, ON. Barbados is an incredible
island and the views are phenomenal ! If you want to take in all the sights and
sounds I would recommend that you rent a car for a day or two to see the entire
island.
Pros: Accra Beach and Miami Beach are both beautiful
-Accra beach is across the street from Chefette.
Bajan people are very friendly and I love their accents!
The seafood is delicious and fresh!
The St Lawrence Gap is live at night Hal's Carpark
Bar is so fun!! It’s an outside bar/car park with live music. There are
also other bars.
Oistins Fish Fry usually has great entertainment as
well.
Let's not forget it is Rihanna's home - YASSS QUEEN😍
Cons: Restaurants in the St Lawrence Gap are
expensive.
