London

London😍

THE BEAUTIFUL UNITED KINGDOM !!!

London, England was a part of a 10 day Europe trip I took in October 2016. London was the second place I traveled on the leg of my trip and I think it is definitely a place everyone needs to visit!

London was one of kind; I absolutely loved the European vibe, the people, the attractions and the architecture was amazing.

Hotel: Bayswater Inn  3 star

The hotel location was awesome as it was in “Little France” area and the cafes/restaurants were in walking distance.

Highlights: As I was only in London for 2 days, I wanted to see as much as possible. Therefore prior to the trip, I booked a big bus tour ticket which was valid for a certain amount of days (2-3 days, if I remember correctly). The big bus tour is a hop on/off bus that offers numerous tours in London. I had the chance to check out 3 of their tours as well I went on their boat tour which goes to the Tower Bridge. The tours were amazing as they covered all of the important landmarks in London.  Also the tour included a discounted price to the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum which was very cool!  Keep in mind that if you DO NOT hop off of the bus along the tour, the tours are all about 4-8 hours long.

As for transportation to/from the airport, when I arrived at Luton Airport, I took the local airport bus that went to the city center. The bus location in the city center is also the same corner as the big bus tours. This location was a few blocks away from the hotel. Bus tickets can be purchased in the airport towards the bus station doors.

As my departure flight was from a different airport (Gatwick Airport), I took a taxi back.  Otherwise, I used Uber or a taxi in the evening when needed as everything else was walking distance to the hotel.  They also have the "tube" aka the subway which was near the hotel!

Recommendations: Buy a ticket for the Big Bus Tours to see all the landmarks as it covers everything! I paid 50 euros (roughly 70$ CAD) for the ticket and it was WORTH IT. Also, try to stay close to the city center that way you can be closer to most attractions.

*** KEEP IN MIND THAT THEY DRIVE ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE OF THE ROAD WHICH MEANS THEY SIT ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE IN A CAR, IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO RENT A CAR!

Food: 6/10 – I only ate at a few restaurants and cafes but I can say that the coffee and pastries were delicious as well as the Fish and Chips were good!

Pros: The vibe was very chill and relaxing.
The cafes were very cool.
The people were very friendly and helpful.
The architecture in London is insanely beautiful!!!

Cons: It was cold and rained almost every day for a few hours.
Make sure you pack a rain jacket/umbrella/boots or what you feel would be appropriate.
