Vancouver

🌄VANCOUVER

They say the West Coast is the Best Coast and I can definitely agree that Vancouver is a beautiful place!

In February 2017, I traveled to Vancouver, British Columbia for a fun filled weekend.

Hotel: Sheraton Vancouver Wall Center 4.5 star (downtown Vancouver)

Highlights: First off, Vancouver has amazing mountain views and I would recommend that anybody (especially my fellow Canadians) to visit at least once in your life! There was a lot to see in Vancouver and I was not happy that I was not there longer, as I wanted to visit Whistler, BC (Definitely on my list for next time)!

Vancouver has A LOT to offer such as tourist spots, great restaurants and shopping. I must say Vancouverite’s were very friendly and were quick to assist with directions and ideas on things to check out in the city!

If you are looking to shop while downtown, there is Pacific Center Mall. The two major streets which had a lot of restaurants and nice cafes were Granville and Robson Street! I would suggest if you are exploring, like I was, to check out one of those major streets. Granville Street also connects you to Granville Island where they have a farmer’s market, water park and other cool sights.

For transportation, I did a lot of walking as it was nice to explore and stumble across different areas in the downtown core otherwise I took a taxi to get around (they did not have Uber or Lyft).

Places to check out: Yaletown and Gastown. Gastown has cool art galleries, tourist landmarks, Victorian buildings and restaurants. This area was known more for the seafood as it was along the waterfront. Yaletown was more so cool restaurant and lounges. Both areas were full of people!

Food 7/10: I went to some upscale restaurants for sushi and seafood as well as pubs for beers and burgers and I must say food was pretty good!

Vancouver has a large Asian population therefore there was a lot of Asian Restaurants (yum!)

Pros: The views of the mountains are amazing.
There is a lot to do in the downtown core including eating, tourist attractions and shopping.
People were very friendly.

Cons: It rains a lot - therefore always make sure you are dressed appropriately or have an umbrella/rain jacket.
